European HD Network (EHDN) is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. Technical and organisational Measures provide that we observe the Law of Data Protection. This Statement of Privacy applies to the EHDN Web site and governs data collection and usage. The EHDN Websites are stored and published on a Server in Germany.
By using the EHDN website, you should be aware of the following data practices as described in this statement.

Collection of Information

Userdata

Some information about your computer hardware and software is automatically recorded by the EHDN server that potentially is personally identifiable. On every Request of a Website of EHDN Data will be stored in a Logfile. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, operating system, requested URL, domain names, access times, web sites and pages users visit within EHDN and referring web site addresses.

This information will be stored anonymously and separated from personal data (e.g. Registration-Data). There will be no individual-related evaluation or single user profiles.

The anonymous Data is used by EHDN to provide general statistics regarding use of the EHDN web site, for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service and to deliver customized content to users. No Information will be provided to third Parties. After evaluation data will be deleted.

Use of Cookies

The EHDN web site use cookies. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. The purpose of a cookie is to improve Navigation on the website and to recall your specific information on subsequent visits and additional statistical information, e.g. what EHDN services are the most popular. Visiting the general content is possible without personal registration. Everyone can visit this pages anonymously and view the Information inside.

Registration

Some of the EHDN services (e.g. Participation in working groups, acquisition of study data) need registration before using them. For registration users should contact the respective language area coordinator.

For your own security we recommend to store your password on a safe place. Please inform us about lost or stolen passwords.

Security and Confidentiality

EHDN does not read any of your private online communications.
When personal information is transmitted to the EHDN web sites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

EHDN implements all Technical and organisational Measures to secure personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Acces to personal userdata is granted only authorized EHDN employees for their official duties. Violating the principles of Security and Confidentiality as part of the Privacy Statement will result in disciplinary measures.

Notice: If you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through EHDN public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

Submitting of personal Data

Your personal data is used in the EHDN Network exclusively. No Information will be provided to third Parties without your agreement.

Changing or Deleting Data

Information about registrated users will be stored in the ehdn server as long as they are registered.
Of course you can edit or delete all your personal information at any time. You can also delete your account. Then your personal data will be deleted form the EHDN server.

Right of Information

You can require Information about your personal data stored on EHDN Servers at any time.

Changes to this Statement

EHDN will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect amendments and user feedback. EHDN encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how EHDN is protecting your information.

Registrated medics will receive important Information from EHDN about studies and appointments by e-mail. You can choose if you accept or decline this service at your registration or later.
